The next generation in Dish Networks satellite security,Nagravision 3(N3) has been reportedly implemented.Dish Network has been using two security methods,n2 and n3 during the transition,so as to allow their subscribers who have not yet received their new smart cards,to be able to continue viewing uninterrupted.Once the smart cards have been sent,it was only a matter of time before Dish Network would stop using the old encryption nagravision 2.Thus leaving only the new encryption protocol, nagravision 3 active.Dish Network will slowly stop using nagravision 2 in sections according to Charlie (CEO of Dish Network). They have reportedly begun with internationals.

Yesterday,The FTA Community was shaken by its foundations when the first public release of a beta testing file was released by an EKS Team for the neosat ipro fta receiver.
The file was quickly spread throughout the fta community, almost as fast as it was shut off by the 3rd party team.
However for those who did receive a chance to test the file, quickly reported its huge success.
here are some user reports from the community:
“im looking at a perfect N3 bev great sound and pic works on dn as well way to go.”

“on N3 it work Flawless on both DN and Bev the test run had a better pic than Cardless and Iks so Great job on your EKS for Neosat!!! Keep up the super work!!!”

“been testing this fabulous bin for a little bit now one word flawless.”

“Well it’s 4:00 am and I am just testing the new test .bin for EKS (Extreme Key Sharing) and it is working very well with N3. I am watching Bev and their are no problems. Channel change is good and picture quality is great.”

The beta test file was stated in the release notes, and latter tests have confirmed,to only work with the more popular Ipro models. The Ipro models are the ones with a built in Ethernet port. The Pro models, which can use an external Ethernet adapter(dongle),cannot use these files,as it was with the older advanced hybrid iks “HIKS”.

The method used for the test was via an internet connection, most know as “iks”.however they call this method “eks” which is said to be short for “extreme key sharing”.It’s become more clear, this “eks team” is using the ipro receiver as a testing unit only, and does not reflect on the work of v2neo team. Its said to be that of a separate test group altogether.

 Dear KBOX Community,

We would like to thank everyone for all your continued patience and support! Also thank you everyone for your testing and feedback in helping us build a better box. We’re not done yet, and there’s much more to come.

If you have not already done so, please upgrade your older K1 Heros for the new K1 Plus that is currently being offered. By focusing our energy, we’ll make sure to provide you continued support that is fast and stable. And we’re also pleased to say that the new PLUS edition is working very well from end-user reports. K1 Heros support will phase out by the end of this year while K1 PLUS will continue for a long time to come.

Secondly, we are recommending everyone use STANDALONE Mode only for now, as we make upgrades to the network. We are aware of freezing and/or blacking out while using the network mode. Stable network operations are scheduled to resume by mid-December, as we are working hard now to prepare for what’s next. More details and announcements to come…

Many have been noticing some stbs remain up during ecm’s at times. This is due to 3rd party coders storing info in their files that somehow “self adjust” or commonly known as “emulate” (EMU) a subscribers smart card. This advancement in 3rd party coding technologly has never been achived at this level. Now the Viewsats 3rd party coding team plans to step up thier files with this known “full emu” as well. This of course doesn’t mean they know every single thing to put in their files to emulate a smart card perfectly, but its become clear to most that “full emu” has happened as planed or so very close to a full emulation that labeling as such is by no means a streatch of the imagination.Below is a copy of the announcement posted by Cyphris:

VS Full EMU on the way!!!

Yes that’s right it is taking a little longer for the VS Coders to complete a full rewrite of the code to include a Full EMU. The last few fixes have been temp patches thus the reason for them not lasting long. The VS Coders are working very hard to complete the rewrite for the Full EMU and are expected they should have it finished later this week. They do have a lot on their plate and there #1 priority is N3 as well as finishing the Full EMU. This is not the Full MAP EMU that they have been using but a true Full EMU which will be a lot more stable with less downtimes till the switch to N3. As for today we should be seeing fixes for the current problem soon..

It seems the boy’s over at the sonicview workshop have some plans for the future, with the announcement today of something they call the “magic board”.Of course the boy’s are keeping this in the low down, and don’t want others to copy cat their, what seems to be at this point “mystery solution”.All eyes and ears will be on the sv team as we patiently await further news.Keep it right here at the ABA Dss FTA Blog for all your updates.Below is a copy of the announcement:

Team SV has a Plan Update

Team SV has been working around the clock on a solution for currrent ECM’s and N3 . They have came up with a great solution that will provide less frequent update and quick turn around patch .
the reason they’re not making the release is they don’t want other to copy there design. The SV Majic board will take SV to the next level without the risk of IKS.Release will be made when it is really needed ,It is not a external add-on , It goes inside the box will say currently being tested on 8000 and 360 seris , sure all attempts willbe made for it to work on all models , As im also sure other brands will try and adapt it to there’s also .for reference the add on is slightly smaller the the VS MAX addon cardAnd no this card has nothing to do 8psk hd channels .this is not a software update

updated info 11/11/08

“They are not saying this will be required , what they are saying is with this you will have longer up time and quicker fixes when needed .”
