PROGRAMMING: ReelzChannel Ready to Launch — ReelzChannel, a new network all about movies, announced it will be transmitted via the Galaxy 15 Satellite, transponder 10. Galaxy 15 is designed to deliver digital video programming and high-hefinition television, the company said. According to the network, Reelz already has deals with Comedy Central, Disney, MSNBC, The Starz-Encore Group, ESPN, HBO and Univision.
BUSINESS: Comsat Int’l Picks Gilat SkyEdge - Gilat Satellite Networks said Comsat International has purchased two SkyEdge satellite hubs and nearly 5,000 VSAT terminals to provide broadband connectivity for Caixa Economica Federal in Brazil. Comsat is Brazil’s second-largest satellite service provider and Caixa is one of the country’s largest banks. Comsat is providing a hybrid IP network to link Caixa’s sites for general banking transactions and to manage the country’s federal lottery.
